ATLANTA

Welcome to Atlanta aka Hot-lanta aka A-T-L! Rich, Sandra, and I decided to meet up for some fun in the sun! Here's a picture of the Atlanta skyline from Olympic Park.

BASEBALL!! Evening 1 we decided to see a Braves game at Turner field. Gotta love buying the cheapest seats only to make your way down to box level at the end! Rich and I raced on a simulated basepath and we all got to enjoy a sneak preview of the miniseries "Into the West" on the clearest Big Screen scoreboard I've ever seen! Honestly, Into The West put us all to sleep. Luckily that Tomahawk I purchased, provided many fun moments doing the Tomahawk Chop!! ;)

"This is CNN. The most trusted name in news". Those were the words I rattled off beginning Rich and my simulated live broadcast! After only a a few minutes teleprompter instruction we were off and running. Very nice job Rich (a crowd developed outside our studio). We even took a sip of the "CNN coffee" and at the end I threw up my printed scripts a la the Keith Olberman Show. If you go to Atlanta get the CNN tour and do this! And thanks to the CNN Latin America anchor lady for being there! :)

Sunday we stopped at The Atlanta Cyclorama in Grant Park. This museu outlined the Civil War "Battle of Altanta" (1864). Major General Hood vs. Major General Sherman. (Reminded me of my Civil War Reconstruction class in college with Sklar). The main attraction was a ridiculous 42 feet high, 358 feet in circumference oil painting commemerating this campaign. Taking just 2 years to complete, this beauty now resides in a 200 seat theatre with a revolving viewing platform.

If you go to Atlanta you have to check out the Coca-Cola museum. You just do! This beverage, orginally created by mistake, was created here in 1886. Coca-Cola was first served at a small pharmacy soda fountain near Underground Atlanta, is now served over 1 billion times a day in over 200 countries. Rich, Sandra, and I enjoyed the exhibits and especially the "taste-testing" room. I must have drank over 20 different flavors (watermelon, mello yellow, citruis, etc) of soda drink all over the glode! Needless to say, I was on a sugar high the rest of the day! Say hi to the crazy lady with the beach ball trying to keep us entertained.

Here's a pic of Underground Atlanta – where old world Atlanta meets new world style. At Underground Atlanta, there's shopping, dining, history and great special events! Lined throughout are 100+ vendors that line the cobblestone streets with face painting, magic tricks, fortune telling, toys, food, and accessories. Funny but the only thing we searched for was a bathing suit! Go Alley Cat and your Kitty Kats.

State Capital Building.

Here's the courthouse where that guy shot the judge.

Crew, don't forget "Bear Hugs", Rich eating every last bit at IHOP, Alexander the Great on the H-channel while stuffing down wings/pizza, partying at Buckhead, waiting at PHL for 4 hours, (26th in line), Joe's restaurant and Arlene who! Good times.
