Charlotte

I finally got my sunny day shot of Charlotte "uptown"! The Bank of America building, Wachovia, NASCAR hall of fame and some others skyline a great city! Rich and I took a quick trip to see Sandra and the BOA 500!

The pre-race tailgating crew! Arriving 8 hours before an event is not the norm for me, but with so many friendly folks around it wasn't long before we had a full fledged football game starting! I love that Panthers football.

The reason we head down South - the Belles! :) Oh man how lucky were we to flag in these college kids from South Carolina. The ladies were wild and posing infront of nascars on the way to the track.

We made it to the Bank of America 500 NASCAR race in Concord, NC. Take a look at the view from Turn 3. Tons of trailers in the infield, and around 180,000 people showing up for the race! I've never had to walk so far to reach the entrance gate!

Here they come! Pace "truck" with his "top lights" off means the next time the race cars pass the start/finish line it's "Go" time!

On Friday Rich, Sandra, and I made it to the Reed Gold mine. This is the exact shaft where gold was found for the 1st time in the United States! Our guide the thespian.

Panning for gold!!! Do you know how long I've wanted to do this? Well after 5 other trips (Montana, Idaho, Alaska, etc) I finally found a place to let me try it. Shake, rattle, and roll this gets a bit boring, but when I found a gold flake it made it all worth while!

Evening 1, us dancing at the Forum. Met some cool people.

Touchdown! Scott scores infront of the Bank of America building. Great last day walking around "uptown". We took a ton of pics and hopefully that DVD will reach me Sandra :)

S's pad. Love the calendar on the frig!

Friday night Rich and I met up with Brandon and his lady friends. We hit up CANS, Tilt, and Grand Central. So many lively places to go (gotta make sure it's not raining), Charlotte has it all (minus the traffic!). Gotta remember to close out your tab at Buckhead, Rich.

Cool sign. Distances to places from Charlotte - saw this in Fairbanks too. When I get Sandra's pics I'll show you the model pics of her!

Panthers stadium. Seriously if I moved here I'd have season tickets - it's got that city feel without the city negatives!
