Boise, Idaho and Montana

Welcome to Boise, Idaho! Another trip to the mountain west to visit Idaho and Montana. 900 miles of traveling in 3 days! Ah, gotta love road trips!

Here we are infront of the Boise State Bronco! Toured the campus and Greenbelt. Dinner at the Lock Stock and Barrel was great!

So we figured leaving in mid april would alleviate most winter travels, but we forgot if you don't do direct flights and the layoff happens to be Minneapolis, booking prior to June can mean a snow storm! We ended up being delayed out of EWR and our flight to Boise left, so I enjoyed sleeping over in the airport! Luckily the McD's coupons had us eating something. (And I'm not a fan of the 30 minute "clock annoucements").

The Boise State blue turf. Always wanted to see it, however note I'm outside the grounds as this place has more security than Fort Knox (heck we just ran onto the field in SLC).

Downtown Boise shot from the nearby park. Rich enjoyed the dogs playing, I enjoyed seeing some archery and the nice WARM 70 degree weather out there before heading home!

Another state capital. Isn't it odd everyone we visit capitals it seems to be under some construction??!

On the way back from Montana we took the "scenic mountain pass freeways". Here was a view of some of the hills from Arco. Horse drawn carriage guy is nearby!

Craters of the Moon! I swear it is - a bit snow covered, but you get the idea. This is where the NASA astronauts trained to get a feel for the moon.

Welcome to Montana sign! What a great drive from Idaho Falls.

A beautiful site on our way from I-86 to I-15 heading to Utah... On the way to the Lava Hot Springs!

Twin Falls canyon rim bridge! Can't forget our travels down the hill to check out the "do not trespass" sign.

Just getting out of the lava hot springs the naturally heated pools of Idaho where it's 105 degrees in the water and 45 degrees outside! The steam was amazing.
