Hawaii

Welcome to Hawaii! Here is a 10,000 foot view of Pearl Harbor landing in paradise :)

Yep, they have highways (H1-H3) on Oahu and our 1st stop was to visit Pearl Harbor

So there it is, the USS Arizona Memorial (to commemorate those lost during the sneak Japenese attached Dec 7th 1941. Basically the battleship sunk right below the white memorial platform created. Sagging in the middle and strong at the sides (symboling US resolve).

The battleship Missiouri - the place where the declaration of surrender was signed - General McArthur presiding!

That's Waikiki beach and Diamond Head crater

Hawaii is known for it's pineapple exporting and Dole plantation was our next stop. Here we planted 2 pineapples!

Amazing shot of Honolulu, Waikiki and Diamond head crater from Punchbowl.

Another capital. Next to Ionlani palace

I'm glad we walked this way. This girl was dancing around for this sampling of art!

How lucky are we to pick random weekends that end up being a parade or celebration of some sort! This week was the Pan Pacific festival in Waikiki and we got to see hula dancers, drummers, japenese dancing, bands, etc. Real cool time to cap off a long day.

We hiked to the top of Diamond Head Crater and here is the shot overlooking the Pacific ocean.

The Polynesian Cultural center was a great time. We got to see various island's cultures (throw some spears, sample some tribal dancing, and almost fish). This was followed by a luau with dancing and yummy food.

On the big island, we hiked the Kileau Iki trial (4 miles around and IN an old crater). Here is the rock formation finding our way through the old volcano.

One of the cool activities leaving Kona was to watch the lava flow into the ocean and create more of this BIG island!

We took an airplane tour of the Big Island. Saw Hilo, waterfalls, volcanoes, lava flows, etc. Here is a the beautiful display of blue water.

LOVED this restaruant - Huggos. Recommend it to everyone. Not only is there a great selection of Hawaiian food, but you get to sit "on the beach" overlooking the ocean (sunset included) with a local band and hula dancers for entertainment. Now I usually eat a brisk meal, but I was stalling baby!

Back in Honolulu we took the Movie Lot tour and got to see the sets for Pearl Harbor, Windtalkers, 50 first dates, Godzilla and Lost.

I don't play around with hotels and here's our view on Waikiki beach!

Hanauma Bay (snorkling center)

This is why we go to Hawaii. I'm jk, but she's pretty

I absolutely loved surfing on the world famous waves of Hawaii. Here I am getting ready to hop back in the water!
