Los Angeles | San Diego

Welcome to Los Angeles! I took a mini vacation to see Andrea and Gavin in California. And let me tell you, I'm a closet SoCal kid afterall! :) Picture this, 85 as the high and 70 as the low EVERY DAY! No humidity and sun sun sun = fun fun fun!

Here we are at Venice Beach! That's the Santa Monica moutains in the background! Andrea, the girl who grew up down the street from (and I'll have you know I drove her to acting class a few times! hehe) decided to move west and follow her passion of being an actress. Thursday night we did some roll playing and read some scripts she is working on and let me be the first to say it's harder than it appears! Andrea will be big someday soon - I know it! :) Gavin was rockin' with the sweet wheels and satellite radio stations!

Get out your credit cards and prepare to CHARGE - we're on Rodeo drive! Here we saw Jennifer Lopez zooming by in her Benz. Let me say how cool people are with seeing famous celebs on the street. I was flippin' out, but most people just waived! Cheryl, you can see Gucci in this shot and again sorry about the pocketbook, the cashier wasn't interested in any monopoly money I was handing out! hehe

This is the famous Farmer's Market where celebs and everyone alike come to get a great variety of food items. We were an hour late to see John Edwards who was in the area shaking people's hands. How about that baby that wouldn't be quiet? Later on we saw I, Robot with Will Smith at Grueman's theather in downtown LA. Amazing flick, I highly recommend! *wink wink*

Dude, let's go surfing! hehe, here is a shot the La Jolla district (pronounced La Hoya) of San Diego. We drove the 405 straight down and passed Long Beach, Orange County (OC baby). Such beautiful scenary as you drive along the coast and viewing all the mountains! Dang that traffic and say hello to all Arizona drivers they need to pull up that extra inch!

This is the famous Santa Monica Pier. We took the 10 to get here. (FYI, instead of calling interstates "Interstate 10", SoCal people will refer to them as riding "the 10" etc.). Anyway, Andrea and I walked along the pier, saw people catching Starfish and then headed to the 3rd Street Promenade where there are some serious shops and entertainers!

So here is the view I woke up to each morning. Breath-taking to see the HollyWood sign(left) every morning. Really makes you think anything is possible!

This is the famous San Fernando Valley! Where it's 10 degrees warmer than in downtown Los Angeles!

Pacific Coast from 4 miles up! All I have to say to my 50 year-old Argentinian lady friend who, after me explaining all my trips I've been on and DC, exclaims, "that's nice, now how do you get off school and BTW you look 17" is "don't be fooled by my baby face!" ow ow!!
