Minneapolis / St Paul

Rich and I were explorers yet again, this time visiting the Midwest and Minneapolis / St Paul, Minnesota! Here is a shot of downtown Minneapolis from the 10th street bridge (right next to the fallen I-35 W bridge). And remember the main airport is Lindbergh, not Humphrey!

Such a moving experience to visit the site of the I-35 bridge collapse. Only a month ago this bridge fell down killing about a dozen people. The plan is to rebuild the bridge in 12 to 18 months. They sure need it as anyone NE of the city has to connect through 280 and 94, which is backed up!

One thing you'll learn quick when in Minneapolis is to utilize the "Skywalks" they have downtown. Basically all the buildings are connected to one another by their walkways. Good for winter or cold times.

Another capital building! This time Minnesota's in St Paul.

Mill Ruins Park and walkway. We're looking back at some buildings downtown. Take a closer look near the left to see the one building without a roof.

NFL Opening week baby! Week #1 Rich and I got tickets for the Vikings vs the Atlanta Falcons (Michael Vick or his dogs not included) at the Metrodome. What an amazing time cheering them to victory. Gotta love the Viking horn to signal they're going into battle!

Here I am visiting the University of Minnesota campus. Over 50,000 students here and a ton to do. We checked out the student center and the hockey's team stadium.

Minnesota Gophers!!!

There it is ladies. The Mall of America. All your shopping possible can be done from here. And to think I worked near the King of Prussia mall last year and now this. Sheshhhhh

They were not lieing when they said there is an amusement park inside the Mall of America. Roller coasters, swings, bumper cars, water rides, ferris wheels, crazy times. Rich even got me to ride the RC (video tape upon request).

There we are coming back from Wisconsin!

Nothing special here, just a nice shot of the building's reflection in the window.

Here is St Paul downtown. Oh yeah, it's happening!

St Paul's Cathedral! Right across from the capital building.

That's right, we took a side trip due south to Mason City, Iowa! I'm getting closer to my goal :)
