Seattle / Portland

Rich and I were back at it this time exploring the Great Northwest (Seattle, Washington & Portland, Oregon)! Here's a shot from Queen Anne's hill of the Seattle skyline.

Spider pig, spider pig does whatever a spider pig wants... Well it must have been a pig convention, but infront of every business building was a sponsored pig. My favorite was in front of Pikes Place fish market

Here it is - the famous Pikes Place Fish market. And yes it's true whenever there is a sale they throw the fish (from both sides) to the weigher and they all "sing" the name of the fish bought and its size.

So why didn't anyone mention there are the steepest hills in Seattle?!! Check this "standard" road to Lake Washington.

We took in the Tigers - Mariners game. This was the night Ichuro just signed his 7 year deal to stay in Seattle and the place was packed. Sadly they lost with the bases loaded it the bottom of the 9th. Good seafood onsite.

Our South Korean friends. This picture is the best one as they all get their cameras out once Ichuro comes to the plate. CLASSIC!
Now that's what I'm talking about. "Cowgirls Inc" is the place to go after a Seahawks or Mariners game! American Saloon type atmosphere and girls that know how to dance!

Outside of "In and Out Burger" or "Five Guys", this is my favorite burger chain in the USA!

Huskie stadium! I love the view from Lake Washington where you can actually drive your boat to the other side and park... Water taxi's take you to your spot!

Bill Gates' mansion!!!!

Mount Rainier (yes it looks like a cloud) after a nice dinner at Anthony's.

The toughest decision of the trip. Should we go north to Vancouver or south to Portland?! :) Rich convinced me to drive the Prius (48 mpg gas/battery hybrid car). Once we figured how to get it started it was a breeze! One fillup for 600 miles.

We took a quick stop at Mount St Helen's. OK I wasn't that impressed, but with the IMAX movie we saw the previous day near the Key Arena and the guides, it was decent.. Subway stop with a lady who knew about NJ ;)
There she is.

I love it, we ended up at Oregon City and the site of the end of the Oregon Trail. 50 foot wagons and arts/crafts and bands all around!
They were performing "Oklahoma" onsite and here was the artillery still makes my ears ring! That stuff is powerful

That's Portland! Tons of bridges. We checked out downtown and saw the sand sculptures and pearl district.

The huge Rose Gardens of Portland.

On our way back to Tukwila, WA we stopped over at Olympia, WA at their state capital!
